about the piece:
The first in my "homesick series" that works on as tongue in cheek concept of making objects feel more at home using sounds that are fimilar to the material that makes up the objects or structure.
open.book combines sounds of the forrest and contact recordings of trees to create a soundtrack for the books to be more at ease. Played through 5" speakers set in stumps, installed as a sculpture in the middle of the bookstore creating a spatial lull.
