The 12-note Composition for Sine's
October 2001
location:
Musuem of Contemporary Art Denver
Denver, CO
The 12-note Composition for Sine's was a sound design installation based on Arnold Schönberg's piano composition method of the same name.
Adapted for sine waves to explore the change in the audio properties when multiple sines are played simultaneously. A eight channel arrangement is played back through eight miniture speakers.
The audio will consist of unobtrusive sine waves that move in and out of each other, working with a large range of sound including frequencies that are inaudible to the human ears.
This installation was part of the MCA/Denver's Visual Soundings Series
